Corsair Hydro H50

Corsair plans to launch the Hydro H50 with a competitive £50 price tag, and that's what makes it particularly interesting. Despite its use of liquid-cooling technology, Corsair isn't aiming to compete with other liquid-cooled solutions. It's target, it says, is high-end heatsink fans and the message is clear; why pay in the region of £50 for an air cooler when the Hydro H50 could provide greater performance and lower noise at the same price point?

I'd certainly be interested in this if it was near silent. Has anyone had any experience with it's predecessor?

Thoughts?

Seen a few of these nOOb friendly watercooling solutions before, depending on the price it could be good. When Corsair first entered the PSU market we weren't sure how good they would be and as history shows us there were top bits of kit!

I'm a teeny wheeny bit more interested in Water-Cooling than I was in the past and this Hydro H50 from Corsair is kinda the thing I would go for . . . . I really don't wanna go down the DIY path as you end up like a proper anorak talking about T-Lines, reses, Feser, water flow, tube kinking etc etc :p

This looks to be on the same lines as a NorthQ siberian tiger, that was quite good. Similar performance to a top end air cooler even though I only used a cheap coolermaster fan.

Not better than air, just quieter in my experience.

Well if it's of equal performance to my noctua cooler, but silent, i'd probably go for one, since jumping onto a full watercooling setup is likely to cost a lot more. I suppose you could pick up some second hand bits, but it's still not as neat as this. The only problem is that it's impossible to upgrade.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see how effective this really is, not long until it should be available.

Isn't that just another incarnation of the Asetek LCLC? That performed poorly and this looks like it will as well :(

You just can't get decent performance out of a tiny radiator and a carpy block/pump combo.

What does this have going for it over the swiftech apogee combined block/pump with a 120mm radiator? Slightly cheaper if they make it to 50 quid, anything else?

I guess just the fact that it's easy, no messing about with coolants etc....wouldn't know & tbh I doubt it will take on top end air coolers anyway.

Looks just like that Siberian tiger doofer.

Well the previous cooler was available to OEMs only, as it's easy and low maintenance, so if that appeals, might be for you if the performance reflects the price compared to air.
