How much better does it perform over one of the other hydro series coolers?
 
It is slightly better than a H70, but has added features which are unlocked with the new Corsair Software - for example, the ability to adjust the pump speeds/fan speeds depending on the temperature of the CPU.

Don't like the idea is this one: Fan Speed: Up to 2600 RPM (probably too loud)

Read the whole thread, I think I'll be sticking to a Thermalright Silver Arrow, the latest H80 cooler does not really break any new ground.

Some other comments:

The thin, corrugated tubing is not the bottleneck for performance in our system when it comes to flow rate.

Apache fans are good, but are typically louder than fans of similar RPM with similar specs. The "S" shaped blade might be the cause of this, I don't know, I haven't done a blade pitch/design comparison. All I know is in our internal dBA testing, they scored fairly poorly from a noise level perspective.

The H80/H100 performance gap is small in out-of-box settings, but the H100 has much more headroom due to the capability of adding 2 more fans for a push/pull scenario.

The "Low Noise", "Balanced", and "High Performance" settings are not strict fan RPMs, but performance curves that let the fans spin up based on internal coolant temp. Their settings are as follows:

Low Noise - 900 RPM to 1300 RPM
Balanced - 1300 RPM to 2000 RPM
High Perf - 1600 RPM to 2600 RPM

The "Balanced" mode outperforms H70 by about 3C, consistently, on our test-bed with an ambient temp of 25C.

I was thinking about this to replace my NH-D14. As great a cooler it is, it bloody ugly. I think I'll wait for the H100 and put 4 Akasa Vipers on it.

I have not tested a H100 yet, but I am not passing judgement yet...... neither should you. Have you used one? No......

No, I haven't try H100 as they are not available out yet. But, I am sure you can prove me wrong when you get hold of it and tested it. :)
 
I am not out to prove you're wrong, you maybe correct. I just wish people would not pass judgement with no facts.
 
This has been available for a afew days now hasn't anyone bought any

interested to see what the results are

could be a preview to how well the H100 performs

tried search the net and loads of shops have this is stock but i cant find a single user review or unboxing or anything

If what he says is true then why have I never encountered this poor performance on the H70? but saying that I don't have a H50 to compare. I have good temperatures with fans at low speed as intake, about 38c gaming or prime. I don't have them cranked up to 163CFM because I don't want noise if there doesn't have to be.

Even before with two 1500rpm fans at 64cfm per fan throttled down to about high 6xx to early 7xxrpm exhausting, it would idle at 32 - 34c for web browsing.

just installed my H80 and less than 2 hours later Asus AI Suite has reported the fans aint spinning and the cpu hit 85°C....so i tried to shut the pc down, but i guess it overheated before it could fully shutdown.
When i took the side off the case, i could see the fans weren't spining and light on the cooler wasn't on, then the fans seemed to kick into life intermittently as if there was a loose power connection or something. I've checked all the connections and they seem fine. Everyting is plugged in too, 2 x fans into cooler, 3-pin from cooler into cpu fan on mobo, 2 pin power molex is connected too.
Any ideas please.
Its cooling my i7-2600k (@4.5GHz) on an Asus P8P67 Pro board. PSS is Corsair HX850w.
Daren't leave it alone now, will have to shut it down overnight.
