I have had a new "Prodigy Cobalt" Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.2GHz Quad Core Mini ITX system from overclockers for about 3 weeks now. Since it arrived it has been making a clicking noise which I think is coming from the Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler. I've stopped all the fans and the noise persists so I do not think it is a fan. I don't know if it is a problem or not because I don't know what sound the cooler is supposed to make.

I've googled it but none of the videos I find seem to have quite the same sound.

This is the closest I've found but the noise is not this bad
It definitely does not sound as clear as this

Any suggestions?

have you adjusted the pump speed to see if it changes the noise too?

That way you can be sure its the pump.

Also you have a 14day dsr with ocuk and also a warranty. You could post your issue in customer service section

Friends did that it turned out to be air stuck in the pump, apparently it's a common fault with these.

As you've only had it 3 week i'd ring OC and get a RMA sorted

Thanks, I've emailed OC.

The systems already been back once as it arrived with SSD not working, they replaced the Mobo and the SSD when they had it. They also forgot to overclock it but have given a partial refund in lieu of this. System seems to work really well it's just little things like this that are really frustrating.

Hey there,

I've got an H80 (the previous version) and the only thing that makes a noise is the fan, the pump itself is near silent. It's at least 12 months old, if not 18months.

Hope that helps and do only consider getting a Corsair Link Commander - some have found it promises a great deal, but there are occasional problems (that's what I've found too).

How does that help anything? Your post was something along the lines of "well my pc runs perfectly"

Also sort your sig out :)

It's a benchmark comment, meaning that mine makes no noise, i.e. the product doesn't make a noise in my instance, therefore if his makes a noise, perhaps it shouldn't make a noise. A second person saying the same would reinforce this, a third would be even better - every owner would be perfect.

My sig is OK isn't it? I've made it smaller, so as not to inconvenience anyone :)

If a H80i pump makes noise, RMA it.

My H100i pump is completely silent, as it should be. You cannot adjust the RPM at all, it is constant.
