my 16yrs old needs a keyboard..he's been borrowing his brothers k70 pro, but with him going back to uni is now keyboardless for his pc I built him..My eldest took him to curries to have a look at some and he likes the corsair k70 core as the switches are new and prelubbed, and the core has sound dampenning also(he thinks the standard cherry red switches on the older k70 pro noisy and slightly wobbly) He also games via sitting on a beanbag in front of a TV, so likes the smaller tkl and would like wireless if possible
I don't mind paying, but anyone got this...I's rather a keyboard with PBT keys rather than ABS which can get shiny quickly like my work keyboard I'm typing on now..anyone used it and have an opinion...or anyone got a good alternative? He also plays with lights off so backlit a must. I did look briefly online at the k65 tkl as the switches are hot swappable(which would be nice), bu the actal keys are solid so the letters etc aren't backlit, so no good for typing in the dark
Probably need to order it tonight so as to maybe get a delivery tomorrow (only just got told about it so a bit of a last min rush0. typical..at home all xmas and no interest..now abroad again working, and as soon as his big bro takes the keyboard it's panic stations
. Sometimes kids can be too laid back for their own good
ps, not set on corsair..only corsair in rig is the ram, case is a phanteks, cooler is arctic freezer 36, so bit of a mix...he'll prob just set it to red light or something as he's colourblind and that's the one colour he can see well
