Corsair K70 keyboard problem

My (newish) Corsair K70 has developed a strange problem.

If I press either of the illumination related keys (the key to toggle between full/part or the backlight intensity key) the keyboard "resets" (all of the lights turn off and it disconnects from the computer for a few seconds).

Every other function works correctly, I just can't turn on the backlighting.

Anyone else come across this? I've submitted a support ticket to Corsair and will let you know what they say.

Oh, and I've tried it on two computers (it used to work on both).

I've looked at your ticket and it seems that one of our Tech reps took charge of your inquiry.

If you cannot sort it out with your re seller, let me know and I'll see if there is anything we can do from our side.

A final update on this:

Corsair didn't seem too keen on paying the return postage, so I ended up sending it back to the online retailer.

The online retailer is incompetent, so they gave me a refund when I specifically asked for a replacement. The joke's on them though, as I've ordered my replacement from Overclockers instead!

Seems that you've bought the KB May. 22, 2013. If you were within 30 days form the date of purchase, then our customer service would have been in the position to provide you a pre paid label, but since it's over 30 days, your ticket has fallen under standard warranty policy in terms of shipping arrangements.

What would happen if it was beyond 1 year and less than 2?

I have a K60 which although great is certainly feeling like it's not going to last the full two years despite not particularly heavy use. It would be good to know that Corsair aren't going to make things difficult.

I was particularly addressing the shipping policy, in terms of who is responsible for what. If you are within two years and the KB started to act up, then you are covered via standard 2 year warranty from Corsair. Let's say you've decided to claim your warranty a year and half within your two years, then you are covered, either repair or replacement, but you are responsible to ship it back to us to process your RMA, and then we will take care of the shipment to send back the replacement. This policy not new, like any other manufacturer out there they would have the same standard warranty. This is a common practice within the industry. For more details, please refer here

That's fine. I just wanted clarification as I was unsure from your previous post.

If you're within the first year and the retailer isn't playing ball what would Corsair's stance be btw?

We'll take care of you for that matter. As long that you are within your Corsair warranty, replacement or not, you are always welcome to contact us for assistance.
