Hi,

I've got 2 PCs (both windows 8.1 but issue started while on 8.0), both with a corsair M30 mouse. Within the past week or 2 they have both started experiencing the same problem. When you scroll down it will jerk back up. I've uploaded a short video on YouTube to demonstrate what I mean :

Any help would be appreciated.

Had this on my M90. Bloody awful when you play a game where the wrong scroll wheel option can kill you!

I don't know what I did to get it to go away, I guess it was a mixture of seriously blowing in to the scroll-wheel, banging it (lightly) on the desk and insane scrolling!

You could always RMA with Corsair but that'll potentially leave you without a mouse for a while, and who's to say the problem won't occur in the next mouse.

Mine was the same, but rather than mess about, I opened it.
2 screws at the front under the slip mat, 1 each side, same under the rear mat.
Remove the top, and I unplugged the top from the bottom. There is a small wheel on one side of the middle wheel shaft, and I cleaned it with a clean cloth, and blew on it, and all is now well, at least for now!
I suspect it is either plastic dust caused by a sprung piece of metal that runs along the serrated side of this little wheel (clicking), causing wear on the plastic, or maybe there from assembly, as inside the mouse was completely clear of outside contamination.
You need to take care opening it if you are a bit rubber fingered, and be aware you are voiding the warranty. I did not completely remove the little slip mats, so could push them down again once I put the little Philips screws back in OK. I do have the extra mats that came with it, but wanted to keep those.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Well it started acting up again, not so bad as before, but I had another look inside. I decided to use a switch cleaner SAFE on plastic, and a can of compressed gas to blow it all clean. I also put a tiny amount of a non conductive grease on the wheel serrations, plus re-soldered a crappy joint on the base of the little unit (3 pins). I am not suggesting anyone reading this does all this, just keeping you informed. It is now working fine again, wonder how long. Unless this part of the mouse has been modified, it is likely a lot of them will get this problem. It is not up to the standard of my other Corsair products.
