My m45 is getting on a bit now and while it still works, it's looking a bit tatty. On top of that, not often, but sometimes the dpi randomly increases slightly and I have to press dpi down to reset to what it should be at. See a ton a of reports of the same thing and even on the m65, so seems like it's a driver/mouse firmware bug.

So I'm considering replacing it. I know nothing about what sensor the m45 has or what I should be looking for. All I want is:

Doesn't look like a transformer
Doesn't have rgb disco lights all over it
Wired.
Not corsair because of the above issue that seems to persist even in newer mice.
Standard 5 button is fine, don't need macros or tons of mouse buttons.
£40-50 max.

Thanks.

With the release of the logitech proteus spectrum the price of the G502 proteus core has dropped, Iv been using one for a while now and like it a lot.

The Logitech G502 is superb. I have used one since they first came out. My only complaint of them is the stupid metal mouse wheel. It has poor grip. The would have made the mouse perfect had they coated the wheel in rubber. As it stands if your skin is dry like mine then you will have days when there is just no grip on that wheel.
The software is fantastic. Especially if you happen to own a Logitech keyboard as well.
I hold the mouse in a claw and lift the mouse from time to time so the balance is important, and the balance of the Logitech is very good indeed, unlike some Razers that I have owned, and I think the point there is that it depends how you use the mouse as to which one will be best for you.
