I'm on the hunt for a Corsair Mechanical keyboard. I already own a Cosair K65; and I think that was a failure of a decision because I under estimated how much I need a numpad.

I've looked at the K95 and K70 , they are around the same price but I'm unsure on which one to get. Apart from the Cherry MX Switches , the K95 doesn't seem to offer much more apart from it has a white backlight.

Do you think it'd be worth to just get a K95 with the extra G-Key's for macro's etc , or just go for the K70? I'm very fond of the Cherry MX Red switches , and I think they are great for gaming. Is anyone using Cherry MX Blue switches for gaming , and how are you finding them?

I have the the Corsair K70 mx cherry red. I could have got one last week for £90 but paid £100 retail as I was impatient. For me that is still a lot cheaper than what the K95 is.

Imo, if you prefer white LEDS to red and you must have macro keys and are prepared to spend ~£30 more for that then get the K95.

If however you want the best looking keyboard out of them all lol then do what I did and pick up the K70 with the MX Cherry reds.

Simples.

I got myself the Corsair Vengeance K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Red Switch for xmas

Absolutely love it, never had a mechanical keyboard before and although the Ducky boards had overall more recommendations, I have always loved Corsair kit and a wrist-rest was a must for me - which the Ducky boards do not have. Plus they are more expensive.

I considered the K95 too but couldn't think of a situation where the macro keys would be really useful, and I would doubt that I would remember to use them even if I did program some in! I can imagine games like Skyrim or WoW would make good use of macro keys though. I think a decent mouse that has 3 or 4 extra buttons are much more useful for FPS games, such as the Corsair M65 mouse which I got in a bundle deal with the K70.

Both the K70 and the M65 have a thick metal plate running through them so they feel very solid and heavy, which is reassuring when spending this kind of money :)

I have the K70 too - the silver version with red switches. The keyboard feels great in hand, but the LEDs have started to fail. It's a fairly well known issues and will be going back for a replacement once I have done my exams this month.
