A while back a purchased a new 512 stick of corsair ram (cmx512-3200c2) to fill up the empty slot in my Asus K8V, hoping the 1.5 gig of ram would help run BF2.

The 2*512 I already had in there was the CMX512-3200LL twinx bundle which are DDR400 CAS2. The new ram I thought I bought was also DDR400 CAS2. Anyway, I tried and tried and the only way I could get the new stick to be CAS2 is to drop it down to DDR333, or alternatively I could run it at DDR400 speeds but only at cas2.5. Eventually I took it out of my pc and err...forgot to get a refund.

My question, would it be better to have 1.5 gig CAS2.5 or 1gig CAS2?

1.5Gigs at CAS2.5 DDR400 will be best for you if you're gaming, the reason you're having difficulties is that the A64 memory controller struggles with more than 2 double sided memory sticks.

Since I flashed my bios, I am having trouble getting it to run at CAS2.5 @ DDR400. Instead it seems to like running CAS2 @ DDR333. Would you still think this drop in speed is worth the extra 512?
