Corsair ML120's PWM or Noctua F12's for rad cooling ? and how to control them

As above, opinions seems to be mixed but raw data is leaning towards the ML120's ?

Also looks like my Lamptron fan controller in almost dead (one resistor blew up months ago and a second channel died randomly, with Lamptron uncontactable). If I go the ML120 fan route I need a new fan controller while I would prefer a manual nob fan controller such a thing doesn't seem to exist?

The Corsair commander pro seems to be the only good option without spending silly money. Is it worth it? how fine is the control per channel? could I also control my PWM D5 pump from it?

I run both a EK360 and EK140 rad (so is the ML140 good here as well)

Sorry for all the questions but if your going to drop over £100 on fans as well as £60 on a fan controller you want to get it right lol

I had both fans and Noctua is making noise at low rpms (little rattling noise, annoying), had two and both did (disappearing when around 1000rpm, which was not good for me).

Had brown Noctuas and they were awesome, but those industrial are disappointment imo.

ML120 and 140 are quiet and push a lot of air so those are my choice, however I bought also one bequiet SW3 and it is perfect as well. In the future I would choose between those two.

I have previous model for corsair commander mini and it is working fine, perfect for my needs. I can setup each channel separately, setup curve to profiles or custom, based on different sensors (I have based on GPU). It works way better than mobo software. I had at some point also connected water temp sensor to it, but not used it for fan curves (I heard there were some issues in the past with older model, I would assume now it should work fine).

Ah forgot about the pump, yes I have pump connected to it as well but it only gets to 3300rpms max (should be 4800). It's fine for me, I keep it lower anyway, just not sure how accurate this reading is.

Thanks.

Does the Commander's setting kick in at boot or only when windows is loaded, also can you just set a fan speed rather than it being tied to a temp ?

When you start PC all your fans go max and then slow down straight away, before windows loads. You have option for fixed % setting, then it's locked.

Akasa Viper's are fairly cheap and I think good, no rattling or anything at low speed although they seem to get loud when pushing air.

To share my very limited experience, I just fitted a pair of ML120 Pros to my Corsair H100i GTX and I couldn't be happier with them. I went from the stock SP120Ls to the SP120 QEs because I couldn't stand the noise, and the ML120s are quieter than the SP120 QEs and keep the radiator cooler.

I've seen many ML users expressing similar feeling about them. While not a bad fan there are many other as good or better for less money. ;)

It's funny nobody ever uses argument of cost to vardar fans and yet they are more expensive... (£12.50 in dual pack for ML)
