I have just ordered the Corsair NAUTILUS 360 RS AIO and wondering how to set it up..it says to connect the pump to cpu fan header, why would i do that and not the aio pump fan header? do i want the pump pwm or full speed 100% all the time with cooler? fans would go in to cpu opt header?

the motherboard i have is the asus strix b550f gaming and ive just looked in the bios to see if i can change the headers from pwm to dc etc. and i can but not sure what i am doing with this cooler thats coming

i basically have the fractal design s36 non rgb connected on pump aio header and the fans and case fans connected to my case fan header to chasis fan 2 header on the board at the moment as i like all my case fans AND s36 radiator fans to speed up and down based on the cpu temperature.

thanx

Do it your way. Normally the fans would go to the CPU fan header but being Corsair this will use the awful icue software so I presume it comes with a hub? If so you would connect the fans to the hub and the hub to the CPU fan header unless Corsair does things differently.

Is that the basic corsair one?
No rgb,hub/controller ,proprietary connector etc?
Doesn't really matter which motherboard header you use
Just if you have nothing connected to cpu header
Then you'll get a no cpu fan error on boot up
Easy enough to turn off in the bios

Aio/pump headers
Depends on your motherboard
Some are fixed at 100% rpm
Others you can adjust

yes got it sorted, pump plugged in aio header set max speed, fans plugged in the cpu fan header and fan hub from case plugged in chasis 2 header and using the asus software for fan curves etc.

Yeah when things have standard non proprietary connectors
It just makes things so much simpler
Then only thing you have to check depending what you want
To plug in is whether it's a high power device
Or if daisy chaining fans off one header etc means you need
A header supplying more than 1A
Lot of the time hubs and other devices will have their own power
Anyway with a sata or molex connector
And 2A or higher headers are more common nowadays anyway
