Today I have Corsairs Neutron GTX 240Gb for a quick overview.
The Neutron GTX uses a custom controller from LAMD ( Link A Media Devices) and 256MB of buffer cache. 19nm Toggle NAND from Toshiba is used in the GTX.
Packaging and accessories.
The drive comes in a simple box.
A 3.5" drive bay adapter and screws is supplied.
It is only 7mm tall.
Test system.
i7 4790K
Z97 SOC force
Corsair Dominator Pro 16GB
Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-X
I ran AS-SSD, atto246 and Crystal DiskMark on all three drives.
All drives were wiped and a fresh OS and same updates and drivers installed on each of them.
Performance
The Corsair NeutronGTX comes out on top in all these tests apart from atto.
I also timed how long it takes to boot from off to the desktop on each of these drives and the results are as follows,
Corsair NeutronGTX - 19 seconds.
Kingston HyperX - 26 seconds.
Intel 520 series - 27 seconds.
Summing up.
The Corsair NeutronGTX is the fastest SSD I have had in my possession yet. Its response times seem very rapid to me during use and even after using the Intel and Kingston drives for quite sometime and being use to their performance, the Corsair trumps them and even makes start up times quicker.
As it is the fastest SSD I have had and used, it gets a recommended from me.
