Looking at a good PSU.

Is the price warranted for an Enermax Infiniti 720W over a Corsair HX 620W?

Looking at possible E6850/Q6600, 8800GTX/Ultra, 3 HDs builds etc. and future upgrades...

The corsair 520 will be fine too the next generation of cards are
going down in power requirements not up.

First things first, why would you bother with the 720w Infiniti since it only offers 4A more on the 12v rails for an extra £18? Anyway, what follows is a mini summary.

Plus points for the Infiniti:

- Two 6-pin pci-express connectors like the Corsair but an additional 8-pin pci-express connector so no need for adapters with PCI-E 2.0 graphics hardware
- Much better voltage regulation than the Corsair
- Less ripple than the Corsair

Negative points for the Infiniti:

- Slightly worse efficiency than the Corsair
- Not the longest cabling around
- £23.50 extra

im still using an enermax nosetaker 600w even on my new rig its going very well and the psu is over 2 years old

did they ever say that? i dont remember that. from what i remember and from very early leaks, it was always a power hungry card.
Your im sure your right mate but what im trying to get over is that it would be foolish to base the reasoning for a purchase on rumours of a future cards specs.

corsair is a modified seasonic i thought it's all well and good having
a 5 year warranty but it will still cost you a lot to send it to them lol
i got mine on the back of recommendations on here have to say rock solid so far
and near silent in fact i never hear it.
The 520 is the exact same as the 620 i think apart from 100 watts different
it has the 8 pin connector 4 pin 2x pci express.
I still would have liked a single rail high 12v rail psu like 70(a) but i couldn't find
any at a sensible price.
