Hi guys.
What should I buy - Enermax revolution 1050W or Corsair HX850W.
I heard that Enermax is only one manufacure is not making their stuff in China or Taiwan - should be A1 quality then.
I like thin and black Cables in Corsair, but which one is better?

Haven't owned that Enermax, but I've previously had Enermax PSUs and they've been top notch. I currently have a HX850W, and have been very pleased with it - quiet, good build quality, and no performance issues.

The general consensus around here seems to suggest Corsair are currently top dog for PSUs however Ive never had issues with either.

As long as you stay away from the likes of Qtec you'll be fine I remember them catching fire a few years ago

Hmm, the Corsair is known to be excellent, and I believe actually made by Seasonic, who have a great reputation.

Enermax PSUs are made by Enermax themselves I think, they seem pretty good too. Toughie.

Will you need over 1kW though? Just thinking about efficiency here.

I can't offer an opinion on a comparision, but I had a Corsair HX520 for 3 years and now this HX850 for 1 year. The HX520 is now in a mates PC, both PSUs still as cool and quiet as originally out of the box.

If you're worried about goods coming out of China or Taiwan - think about your MB, 98-99% of mainstream PC boards come out of China/Taiwan.

I've had the Corsair HX620 for 2 years now. Very reliable and quiet. I would reccommend (as would many others on this forum) a Corsair every time.

Havent owned a corsair myself though my current thermaltake toughpower is basically the same as a corsair tx. Its been great so far. Also had several enermax psu's over the years and theyve been very reliable as well.

I have Corsair HX520W, Enermax Modu 82 625W and Antec from my sig.
All of them are great PSU's, quiet and top quality.
I don't need 1KW but nice to have more than not enough, I'll be adding new GPU's soon. Efficiency of revolutin is amaizing - at 200W load he has over 88%, best efficiency at 450W 91% - so it will be perfect for me I think.

Currently running a Corsair HX650w on my test rig in the office, and it's excellent. I've not used Enermax PSU's, but never heard anything bad about them.

.

It's Channel Well Technology that Corsair used as the OEM for their PSU's.

They're one of the largest OEM PSU builders around.

I'd go for the Corsair before the Enermax personally.

IIRC I think Corsair use a mix of CWT and Seasonic depending on the series of the PSU. Perhaps the HX series is Seasonic and TX CWT? I'm not quite sure, but either way they're all excellent, though some have slightly better efficiency.

I'd be tempted to say Enermax tbh, was my first modular PSU and I was very impressed with the characteristics of it.

Whenever I think of Enermax I think PSUs
When I think Corsair I think RAM..

i have a Enermax liberty 500W running everthing in my sig perfectly fine for some time now :D i used to have a 1000W Galaxy which was awesome too, just a little big for my liking.
