Corsair or GeIL?

I'd personally consider something faster if you wanted to see 4ghz+ with absolute certainty. Never really trusted overclocking ram as it would be another unknown quantity. Just 'buy fast' and it's one less thing to worry about.

I'm personally using 8gb of OCZ XTC PC8000 and it's been excellent.

With that ram you could still manage 3.8ghz which would be perfectly fine. It really comes down to the clockspeed you're wanting.

Out of the two i'd probably pick the black dragon. Always liked Geil.

I'd say Geil, Gibbo (or one of the OcUK guys) has stated that Geil is memory they get least RMAs for, but still sells as well as the others, and think back, have you heard many complaints about Geil?

yeah i think i might go with GeIL, i was leaning Corsair cause it seems to get more recommendation, but if GeIL is just as good then may aswell go with that as its 15 quid cheaper.

i was thinking of oc'in, but nothing major, just a safe comfortable level.

I had Geil RAM and I had a few problems with it, so I bought Corsair and never had a problem since. I might have been unlucky with my Geil RAM as I have heard they are good, but since the problems I encountered with them its been Corsair since.

I dont think Corsair is as good as it used to be in overclocking terms anyway, gone are the days of XMS3500 stuff.
I bought some of the 6400 stuff 2x2 gig sticks, took it back it was rubbish, went onto Black Dragon stuff does 1000mhz with ease.
Maybe those sticks of Corsair where bad, but other members have also said the cheaper Corsair DDR2 in 4 gig flavour overclocks poorly.
So on this I would go Geil if I was you, some cheap Black Dragon 4 gig kits on this week only, cheap, most does a 1000mhz aswell.

+1 4 Geil. Currently @ 900Mhz will the cheep ULL stuff. Can't beat 4GB for £60 @ 900Mhz @ 4-4-4-12.

I have the corsair pair, which I bought about 11 months ago for £162:eek:.

Been great, not had any problems at all.:D

EDIT:
And at only a few quid difference (on TWO) I would go for the corsair.
