Hi guys,

My HX520W blew up last night! Loud bang and massive spark! Anyway does anyone know if you have to send all the cables and stuff back with it aswell or is just the unit itself ok? Does anyone know of any cheaper delivery alternatives than the Royal Mail aswell as they want around £30 to the Netherlands!

Thanks a lot.

I RMA'ed my corsair 620w psu 2 weeks ago, just got it back yesterday.

Make sure you email them first and get the RMA details. All you have to return the the main PSU unit no need to give back the cables.

I went for the convenience option and sent it via parcelforce but if you google for alternatives you will find some cheaper options.

Good thing about corsair is that they sent back a brand new retail unit complete with modular cables and plastic wrap :D

Great customer service.

If it's less than a year old you RMA it to the shop you got it from.

Even though these Corsairs are so highly rated on here, there has been a lot of failures. RMA's to Holland suck as well.

Had to send back a HX620 once because it popped when voltage applied, despite still being fully functional. Was lucky that it was within a year, as OcUK took care of it extremely quickly.

No need to send back any extras, and I got a whole new retail kit in return.

There have been LOADS of these sold, so hearing about failures is normal, I don't think they are at all unreliable. I have since bought another in fact!

Yea tbh it hasnt put me off getting another one as theyre great quality. Thanks for the comments guys, I got quoted £21.84 to send it back using Parcel2go.com. Which aint amazing but better than what the Royal Mail quoted so it will probably going back Monday with them.

So now comes the fun and games all over again;

I have 2 HX620's, now the other one has failed with the same issue as the last (bang on applying mains voltage). I haven't tried testing it again until I have some throwaway components to hand. Looks like it's going to cost over £20 to post then? That's insane, I might try to get them to pay since this is the second time!
