Just browsing the shop and noticed that the PC2-6400 Corsair Dominator RAM is no longer available, only the 8500 version.
Now as i have a set of the 6400s in, would i be safe to put 2gb of the faster RAM in and downclock it? or just buy 2gb worth of a different corsair RAM and add it to it?

hmm i would say 2 gb of diff ram would better, how ever make sure you check the specs espeically the voltage requirements as they do diff across the range the 6400 dhx need more than the standard 6400 crosair for example. incdiently the 6400dhz series look like dominators but grey wonder if they are there replacement ?

What's the part number printed on the sticks? Also post the rev/revision number if there is one.

Corsair have a habit of changing the chips and it's pretty much impossible to tell what will run with your sticks unless we know the part number.

Yellowbeard where are yooooooooou?

Right here!

CORSAIR IC LIST

If you can find the same ICs and/or EXACT same part number, you have the best chance of stability. So, post your info here please.
