I take it this is an ok replacement bit of a ram noob.

If i'm not mistaken the "D" in the product code for the replacement RAM means "Dominator", so it sounds like you bagged yourself an upgrade. I would suggest accepting

The Dominator kit won't be any faster than your old kit, but it should run a bit cooler (not usually an issue tbh) and most likely overclock better - but mostly it looks rather awesome (well as far as RAM aesthetics go).
