Hi folks,

I've just purchased a Corsair 5000d case and am at the point of working out the fans that I need to set it all up.

The case comes with a PWM extender which I am planning on using for the 3 fans behind the shroud at the side.

I want to add 7 Corair LL 120's to the build, 3 at the front, 3 at the top and 1 exhaust. In order to utilise the PWM and RGB of these I will need either a lighting node or a commander pro.

I've also got the Corsair XD3 pump/res and a Corsair CPU block which also have a requirement of a lighting node or commander pro.

My question is this: what combination will I need in total to get the fans working and lighting properly?

There are 3x bundles which come with a lighting node, but they work out more expensive than buying individually.

I have had a look at builds on YouTube but no-one seems to really explain what is needed.

Would very much appreciate some insight here!

Lighting Node - Just lights - supports 6 fans, should be of the same type
Commander Pro - PWM control - supports 6 fans, 2x lighting strips and the cooler lighting ( I think)
You will need a splitter for 2 of the fans

Its been a year since I set mine up so my memory is vague but I ended up buying more than I intended.
I found the Corsair forum helpful, this thread in particular: https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=173880
