Purchased a new PSU from a local store as on friday my old one had given up on me.. System would not turn on, fans would attempt to spin but fail to do so.

Now after purchasing my Corsair PSU from a well known electronics retailer, i had my system back up and running everything seeming fine.

Started up a game, went downstairs to make a drink came back up and it was switched off.... Was hoping it would turn back on but nothing, fans dont even attempt to spin but graphics card lights are on and a solid green light on mobo but thats it.

Is it possible this PSU has simply given up after attempting to run under load?

Pretty disappointed but i guess it happens, just worried it may be something else

Not too sure, iv dismantled everything ill take a look and post back.

Not enough power from PSU shouldnt have been an issue though
Not exact spec but

I3 processor
4gb ram
Asus Gtx 770 direct cu II OC (bought recently, slowly upgrading to a decent standard)
Asus mobo
Previously had a 750w psu

Ill post back with exact specs when i know them

I havent overclocked anything no

Will be buying new mobo ram and cpu next week anyway, but i have smelt the PSU and does smell a little burnt, havent seen anything obviously wrong though

Think I was just unlucky, the PSU was dead, however the high street store I purchased from replaced it with no issues, fitted and all is good. Normally only purchase from OCUK but being bank hol weekend didn't wanna wait for delivery.

Even having received a dodgy one from new, id still recommend this PSU, impressed with the noise, or lack thereof and like the fact its fully modular, no need for lose cables hanging around.

Fingers crossed this lasts a while longer :)

side note.

Anyone recommend a good CPU Mobo and Ram build? Going to replace them anyway as this thing is a little dated, save the graphics card..
