I'm going to buy a Corsair PSU, wondering whether the RM will suffice or whether it's worth spending more on the HX - I'll be buying the 12700K and probably adding a midrange GFX Card at some point, with a couple of SSDs and 32GB RAM.

I'm wondering whether to buy an HX or RM and at what kind of wattage, would 650W suffice?

Based on current store prices I'd actually get the Seasonic GX-750 for £85 instead of either of those, you'd have plenty of room then, for the future graphics card.

I run a corsair RM850i with my 12600kf @5.1 on all performance cores 32gb ram, artic freezer 2 420 aio with 6 noctua 140mm 3000 rpm and a 3090ti no problem, I had to rma my old corsair rm 850x and corsair sent me the I as replacement, the rma was quick as it was uk based.

I'm a big fan of the RM, RMI, HX series but the HX is overkill for so many peoples needs, as is the AX series.

If I had to have the smoothest 12v rail ripple possible because my local power was trash, then sure, get the HX series but the RM series is also fine.

Here are eviews of the Seasonic GX-750
