I was going to purchase a new psu, Corsair RM 850w 80+ gold. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the RM series or any of the other Corsair ones.
They do the job sure but perosnally I'd recommend going for the - SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black, over it, as it's better quality and slightly cheaper
I was going to be buying some custom sleeved cables for it aswell (not sure which im going for at the moment need to do some more research). So it'll need to be compatible with a brand of cables. Would you still recommend that one?
The EVGA G2 850W is the same as the superflower leadex, just minus the leds. It's the same price and you can fit the cablemod kits to it as well. I've got the red/black kit on my G2 650W and I'm very happy with it.
Thats why i came here first and asked The psu i have atm is a super flower 550w and it does get pretty loud at times that's why i was considering a different brand.
I don't know overly much about power supply's, im looking for a good quality one for around £100.
Ill have a look at the G2 then as i was looking at cablemod's cables. I take it they're good quality aswell as you're very happy with it?
RM is nothing special, inside the components aren't the best and certainly aren't as good as a G2. G2 you have the 10 year warranty also, and also have the eco fan mode apart from the 1000W
I would take the EVGA G2 anyday. It's cheaper and that 10 year warranty is awesome. There is a review of the 850w G2 here at Jonnyguru, probably the most thorough reviewer of psu's.
That review does make the G2 sound like a good option, i thought about going for the RM as a friend of mine uses a Corsair psu and as i mentioned i dont know too much about them
But thanks for the advice guys ill probably go for the G2, seems like the best out of whats been suggested.
