Hello guys

I am new here so excuse my lack of understanding about computer stuff. So about 6 months ago I bought some corsair RAM. this decided to stop working and is now going for a RMA. For the RMA do Corsair check with overclockers with the purchased price as I cannot find my invoice.

Thanks for taking your time out to read

Mike

Its been a while since I RMA'd to a manufacturer but I will need to do this shortly with Gigabyte but in the past I have not needed to.

Can you check your emails for a dispatch email or even check your online account (assuming you did but online)

Thanks for the reply. So I want to get a refund for my RAM. If I shipped my invoice along with the RAM to Corsair. Would they go to overclockers and check the price I paid for it. I have the order number written down but if corsair contact overclcokers anyway then all I should need to do is give them my order number

Corsair will replace the ram like for like and would not give a refund, you would need to speak to Overclockers but I doubt due to the age they will offer a refund.

Oh. Thats interesting. Talking on corsairs live chat they say it should be fine. With the receipt will they ask overclockers to verify the purchase? Even if I have the recipt in the parcel

Iirc corsair will accept a serial number. A relative RMA'd a psu without a receipt in this way.

I stand corrected :) if you supply the invoice this is all what they should need as this will provide all the details of price paid and product purchased - but I assume you would need to supply them your credit card / bank details to Corsair for them to enable the refund.

I dont think they will give a refund. They would lose money if they did.

Say they sold the ram to ocuk for £20 and ocuk sold them to you for £40, they would lose £20 for every rma

Only sending them back to ocuk would get you a refund or corsair have gone bonkers?

Std warranty terms are usually like for like replacement, if no replacement can be found ie you sent in ddr2 mem and they have no old stock, they'd probably offer market price minus depreciation.
So I'd say chances of a refund are nil.
