Reason I'm asking is because I think my HX520 has died. My gaming rig refused to boot up this morning, its blown 2 fuses & the last couple of times I've used it. There's been a burning smell coming out of the back of the PSU. It has taken a little bit of stick from me over the 3 years or so that I've owned it. I've shorted it out & I've overclocked My gaming rig over the last few months, didn't think it would do it any harm.

So is it worth RMA'ing this psu or is it easier to buy a new PSU. not in any rush to get the rig working again as its only used these days when the nephews come round. Just bought & installed Crysis for them to play too. :(

Does their warranty work via the serial number or do you have to show proof of purchase?

Purchased a modular 520 off MM the other week that is only 2 years old (I think) so would be interested in knowing the process?

Thanks

nope - I bought a hx620 psu from MM about 2 years ago - it busted after about 6 months. RMA'd to Holland and 3 days later a courier dropped off a brand new retail HX620 psu.

Best ever service received from any company. 1st class

Neither. They ask you to test it 1st using a paperclip & a case fan. One end goes in the green wire & the other end goes in any black wire of the 24pin ATX plug, a fan is used to make sure that the whole PSU has gone & not its fan. If there is no luck, you just need where it was bought from & the date of purchase.

I just dealt with them for the RMA of a H50 unit, they sent me the information, I boxed it up sent it to the netherlands which is their closest hub from the post office which I think cost me 12quid, and they had it back to me within a week!

Couldn't fault it to be honest, I wanted to make sure I would deffo receive a new unit after sending it to them as I was 100% it was faulty, and they said even if it wasn't they would send me a new one because it could be faulty with my system which I was very suprised at!

It sounds like a very good RMA service. I only buy Corsair RAM already and from now on PSU's. When will they start making everything else!?

I RMA some RAM to US before holland opened, and also RMA RAM to holland. Great service, don't need proof of purchase, just send it off :)

damn thats realy good service im glad ive got a lot of corsair products in me system
4gd ddr3 dominators,cosair 650 watt and h50

i wish they made ati gpus with that rma service

I had the same issue abit ago when i had to rma a MM bought HX620, all i had to do was enter where it was bought, and what date, and as the person i bought it off gave me this info all was well, so if u can't get hard copy details sent, allways ask for atleast the info in an e-mail.

There Rma service is top notch, i allways advice friends to go corsair for psu if they can strech to the cost, but they are really worth it.

Glad to hear that they dont ask for a receipt/invoice. Like a few have mentioned, i also purchased a psu on MM, (hx 850w). Good to know that if it does go wrong, rma should be straightforward.

Yes peace of mind for me :)

Thanks guys

Don't get too excited rma'ng a psu to holland is quite expensive and they don't refund you.

Had to rma my 520hx couple years back and the cheapest I found was interparcel who were cheaper than parcel2go and it was still £18 that price must be about £20+ now.

Post office would be a ridiculous price probably £30.

But yea you get a brand new sealed unit back.

Definitely shop around for cheapest postage option.
