Hi,

Don't seem to be having much luck with computer noises recently :(

Anyway I got my new SP2500s in the post today. The sound quality is absolutely stunning, no doubt about that. Clarity is amazing.

However I noticed immediately there was a slight static in both satellites when they were switched on with nothing playing on the computer. When I turn the volume louder the static noise gets louder.

Now I know this is a very common thing, but I don't think it should apply to high end ones such as the SP2500s, certainly not when volume is lower.

The sound isn't mind numbing, in fact it's barely audible after a while of getting use to it, but it's there. And if you sit silently in the room and switch the speakers off and on again you definitely pick it up.

I've removed the cable going to my PC and the static is still there, so I'm thinking it's not that. Perhaps the ATX connectors are crap?

Has anyone else experienced such a thing with these?

Thanks!

that's new to me to hear static constantly... sounds like maybe there is a plug of somewhere..or broke...! iv just recently bought these myself..about two weeks or so... and iv no issues at all with these...there fantastic imo.

are you getting static through any others speakers/headsets? can you test? to narrow it down!

Yeah I have had these for some time now and have not experienced and static noise. I would double check that all the cables are firmly in place and if so, wiggle each one a little and see if any are causing it.

100% the noise is coming from both the satellites. I was thinking it could be the ATX cables or just faulty satellites.

Was gonna get some of these and try them instead: http://goo.gl/E3nT58

so only from the the corsair satellites? no other speakers/headsets?.....

personal id fully check over it a few times to rule out everything.... before you may have to RMA it!! you shouldn't have to spend more money to test it out!!!

I have no other speakers or headsets in the room, it's just these... I don't mind spending a tenner if it fixes the issue though... Way better than going through all the hassle of RMA

can you borrow some speakers from a friend to test first? before you spend more money and it doesn't fix the problem....

it does sound like theirs a broken line or plug somewhere....as iv had this before with a headset...which had been dropped and bashed around over a long time....plus sometimes you can get this from a plug not fully plugged in..as iv mention before fully check everything again....before the RMA!

I've had a similar issue with the model down, it comes and goes. Check if any power cables are running over any of the speaker's cables?

Also for what it's worth one workaround is to turn up your system's volume so you don't need to turn the speakers up so far on the dial. Obviously it doesn't fix the problem but my I get more than enough volume from my system so I don't need to turn up the volume dial so much that the static is audible.
