Going to buy a new psu tomorrow,Ive been told corsair are one of the best but whats the diff between TX,HX and VX.
Ive noticed the Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI costs more then the
Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU so basically if i aint bothered about having a modular psu would the Tx be the one to go for or is the HX a much better psu.

HX has Seasonic as the OEM as said, the TX series uses CWT (Channelwall Technologies) instead. Seasonic is almost certainly the better manufacturer of the two but CWT still make very good PSUs and for some well known names in the industry (Gigabyte and Thermaltake to name but two).

Yes i would go with the HX over the TX simply because I have one in my in my system and it has never skipped a beat. To be honest though you wont have a problem with either one!

Check askthepowerguy.com before you make a decision, it's Corsair's official support forum.
Buying a PSU is like buying lottery really. My TX650 blew up after one week but there're a few posts over there with HX620 blew up in 2 days.
I personally would go for Seasonic M12 700W or new OCZ EliteXStream 800, looks definitely more solid than previous ranges as this new series is made after OCZ bought PC Power Cooling which clearly shows when you look at the interior.

the HX series are modular and the TX and VX arent. id go for the HX620, i've never heard of issues with these before and mine has worked flawlessly for over a year where most of the time the system is powered on 24/7

Well i decided to go with the Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-520HXUK)
Very quite i cant hear it at all i have to check if the fans are running ,Build quality is of a very high standard.

i recently got a corsair hx520 and so far its been running fine for about 4 days or so. i know its not much to go on. after a little hick up with getting the system running (turned out to be what i must think is either a faulty connector the modular psu or a power connector not being plugged in properly.

all in all so far its doing okay. the other night i played bf2 and css for a few hours and the psu got quite hot . i could feel warm air been blown out the back.
