Corsair TX850V2 fizzing noise

Hi there,

I've just built my first ever gaming rig, and everything seems fine apart from a sort of fizzing noise coming from my Corsair TX850V2 PSU. It sounds a bit like when you half pull out a kettle lead out of a socket and it crackles, but quieter and constant. It some times becomes silent but will restart up again soon after.

I've read online that these PSU's components sometimes interact with frequencies generated by certain systems creating a high pitch squeal, but i'm not sure if that's the same noise I'm getting.

Is anybody familiar with this issue? If it is the combination of the Corsair and my system causing this noise, could somebody suggest an alternative PSU from a different manufacturer of equivalent quality?

My system specs are:

Intel Core I5 3.3ghz
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
2TB Seagate Baraccuda HD
120GB OCZ SSD
2GB ATI Radeon 6970
Corsair TX850V2 PSU
Coolermaster 690 II Advanced Case

Many thanks,
Alex

I get this with my corsair 650. I've just ignored it mostly and it hasn't caused any problems.
Tho I get 2 different noises. One is a crackling from my psu that I get intermittently and the other is a squeal (think this is from the gfx card ) I cured the squeal by using msi afterburners frame rate limiter in games. but I cant seem to get ride of the crackling sound. Seems to happen at random times and lasts for anywhere between 5 seconds and a few minutes.

I have a TX750M, the smaller and moduler version of yours, I have only had it one month and I have noticed some fizzing/high pitched whining noises, the fizzing noise only occurs sometimes when my system is running but the high pitched squeal is evident once I have shut down the system.

I have also tried my old PSU back into this system and its clear it is the PSU at fault.

Have a look at Corsairs forum, there are a few similair problems, I was told it can be RMA'd at the cost of postage but well see.

You think you spend more to get quality, at least they offer a replacment, just cant be doing with the hassle of stripping it all back out and finding a box to post it in.

I've taken the side of the case off and tied up the cabling a little, and the noise seems to have stopped. I have a feeling it's going to return at some point, and yeah unplugging everything and returning it seems like such a hassle. I'll see what happens.
