It's the difference between the SI unit of measurement used by the manufacturer and the binary unit of measurement used by Windows.

Anyway, it'll show as ~29.8GB in Windows.

The reason why I asked is because I have read reports depending on the manufacturer, some of these
USB flash drives give a lot less space in windows than the advertised capacity.

For example, I have read the comments of some of those 16GB USB flash drives actually gives only 14.5 GB
available usable space when formatted out of the 16GB advertised which is near enough 2GB your not getting.

A 16GB drive should give ~14.9GB in Windows.

Some drives come with sofware on so that's why the available capacity might be slightly less.

Got the Voyager GT this week. Very happy with speeds, even though I'm only on USB 2.0 still the GT's worth it for the exta quid given it's more futureproofed than the Voyager. Saw some bad reviews online but will let you all know how it goes!
