Wanting to drop an extra 8gb of ram in my pc but my coolers is stopping me fitting more Corsair Vengeance with the big coolers is the low profile the same stuff as normal vengeance

i have 2 x 4gb sticks @ 1600mhz 9,9,9,24
wanting to use THIS

You can take the tops off the heat spreaders too

How do you do that, please? I've bought a 16Gb set of Vengeance but I'm using a Coolermaster Hyper 612S in push/pull with two 120mm fans and I'm unsure if it's all going to fit in the RAM slots as its a 4x4Gb kit. Would be handy to know how to pop the tops off the spreaders just in case for when the kit arrives.

My Vengeance arrived, 16Gb fitted now instead of the 6Gb I had in there and the PC is really flying now, quite a noticeable difference. However, the first two modules nearest the Hyper 612S won't allow my HS fan to sit where it normally does. So I slipped it upwards a little on the fan mount to clear and that was fine. However now the side of the case wont fit back on (Zalman Z3 Plus) as the edge of the 120mm fan is protruding about a cm too far out to allow it to do so.

Not sure what to do now but I think I'll start another thread about it, don't want to hijack the OP's.

he meant cut the tops off. they dont detach. the heat sinks are held on with thermal tape

You can remove the heatspreaders with a plastic spatula type blade if your careful. Ram doesn't really need them tbh. More for aesthetic purpose, look at Samsung greens for example.

needed or not is debatable but if your ram slot is blacked by a fan there should be room for a stick of vengeance low profile. just but 1 4gb stick. as i have done
