Just about to start my first build, but planning on using my current year old PSU from the title.
The build(upgrade?) will include
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £597.20 (includes shipping: £12.30)

I already have the case and SSD, plus I have a WD mypassport 1Tb USB external hard drive. The rest of the kit is on order.
Someone mentioned in a thread in the hardware new to gaming upgrade advice, that my VS650 would not be good enough for a system very similar to mine. Is this common knowledge, or just a personal opinion of the poster? Does this PSU have a weakness I'm not aware of? TIA

650W is more than enough.
But VS is cheap PSU and would suggest replacing it when running out of warranty length if you use PC lot.
Cheap parts simply aren't good for longevity and that Hadrian's Wall era efficiency puts out more waste heat than modern designs to wear components out faster.

You could have easily saved £20 by not falling on Samsung's brand overpricing.
