corsair vs550 vs cx500?

Any ideas on which powersupply would be better for gtx 960 + i5 4590k cpu? I'm really on tight budget and not sure if I should skim on psu?

In all honesty I am not sure but I am just aware not to skim on PSU, I am sure though someone will pop in and give you the advice on which is better.

The VS series has even cheaper internals than the CX series. Avoid both is my recommendation.

i have the corsair vs350 currently powering this:

i3 4160
asus H81M-Plus
8gb 1600mhz
gtx 750 non ti 1gb(ive overclocked it slightly)
optical drive
toshiiba 1TB hdd
2x case fans

was a pre-built system from elsewhere and was brought as a gift about 4 months or so ago and while its not causing me any issues especially where there been times ive left it on for 24hrs or maybe tad more, if i had the choice i wouldve got a better psu, just for the simple fact the vs is the bottom and worst range.

never had an issue with a cx430 which i did choose to buy earlier in the year(sold with computer back then too).

As pastymuncher said, avoid both. Both cheaply made and personally nothing I would ever use in a system

Just had a faulty CX Series Corsair PSU, would avoid at all costs, both that model and Corsair due to their poor customer service.
