I want to build a system for a friend based on a Z68 board, 4GB ram, 2500K CPU with small overclock upto about 4.4 and a single graphics card such as a GTX 560.
I currently have a Corsair VX450W in an old system, would this be adequate for the new setup? I have read in this review http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/540 - that the PSU is rated below what it is capable of.

It has basically been tootling along in an old Core 2 E6400 system for the past couple of years so I don't think its been stressed too much.

Do you think its worth it or should I recommend that they stump up the cash for a new one?

Reply's appreciated

Your pushing it young one. But yeah its a reputable brand and its not a 560Ti ollie its a 560 about 1 to 10 fps difference . You should be good, you might be pushing it with the OC tho.

I have been using a Corsair VX450 with an Asus P8P67 Pro, 2500K @ 4.6GHz, 8Gb ram, ATI5850, sound & TV card without any problems whatsoever for the last few months...

I suppose it might be worth a go. The review mentioned earlier says that its overload protection works correctly so at least if it does get over loaded it should just shut itself down rather than going pop and taking all the other bits with it.

How does the 5850 compare with a GTX560 power consumption wise?
