I use a Corsair K60 keyboard that i got as part of a set ( had a mouse and headset in the package with it ). I honestly dont know how long ive had it.

Ive been very happy with it but recently the keycaps have been coming off. On inspection it seems that the little lug that securees the keycap to the actual button is breaking. This has happened on 2 keys so far, the 1 on the keypad and the O button. On top of the Caps, Shift and Tab keys also seem to loose.

Given that i dont have the reciept is there any point contacting corsair? Ive seen replacement keycaps on the bay so its maybe not all lost.

Am sure Corsair used to be more lenient with warranty claims, but am fairly certain they would want a receipt/invoice now, and the warranty is only 2 years for keyboard I think.

Looks like the switches are Cherrys so you have a very wide range of options for replacement, and not restricted to Corsair.

They will most definitely want a receipt.

I've always sworn by Corsair because their support is great, recently (last week) RMA'd a mouse and they wanted my invoice before shipping the replacement.

You can buy replacement parts direct from Corsair so worst case they give you a price for some keycaps, I wouldn't expect that to cost too much :) They shipped me a mouse part a couple years ago which was outside of warranty period, free of charge.

I RMAd an nvme with them some time back.

They needed an invoice/receipt iirc but it was a seamless process.

If you've had it a while would it still even be in warranty anyway? I think it's two years.

I had to use them for a USB flash drive and i seem to remember you needed to upload an invoice and maybe even pictures of serial numbers on the original packaging. I had kept everything like that so i was fine.

They did send me a replacement that was double the capacity but i think that was only because they stopped making the smaller version.

A long time ago i also had to RMA a USB stick and i did not have to supply a invoice, but looks like this has changed now. (also got capacity doubled)

Looking at a review on a competitor site, that keycap set does fit the K60.

So to update, i did find my invoice - from 2021!! So long out of warranty.

I did get a reply from corsair offering me 10 free keys for free i just had to pay $14.99 shipping.

In the end i decided to glue the loose keys in place.

I'll put a new keyboard at the top of my list - been looking at a Ducky Origin.

Will be a few months off yet tho - i still owe the other half for the 4080 super i just had lol.

Ducky have had terrible QC for ages (I should know, I've had four of them - check their Reddit page too).

Stick to Keychron or something.

I always had great things to say about Corsair but like logitech now they can be hit and miss depending on who answers your email. Had a couple of claims rejected and just made a new one and it was then actioned no problem.

Is that a new thing? I'm using a Ducky One 2 TKL which I got in 2019 and I've not had any issues until this week where the space bar started coming off a bit on one side. For now I've done the plastic bag/cling film trick to tighten the stem attachment to the cap up a bit and it seems to have made the spacebar snuggly again for the time being but was considering whether I should get a new keyboard. Other than that I've had no issues for the past 5 years so I'm surprised to hear they might have gone down hill.

I went through like 4 keyboards from other makes before buying this one in 2019, each one had issues right out of the box so I had to return them to the retailer, lol.

To be fair I do have a keychron in the house that I use wirelessly with my laptop/steam deck/legion go etc, so I could just swap over to using that too.

Relatively recent mate, within the past few years I would say. I had a Ducky in like 2017 and it lasted yonks but more recently the QC has just gone to *****. I think it's more-so a problem with the switches (Cherry) as I had a number of them that would start chattering (e.g. press the S key and it'd repeat twice) - very annoying in games like CS etc.

Ducky tried to fix it with firmware updates but it made the problem worse so you had to revert back to the original firmware which was still hit & miss. In all honesty it may have just been a bad batch but it's put me off them for good.

I've had this Keychron Q3 (Gateron Red Pro switches) for over a year now and it's been absolutely rock solid.

That's a real shame. You'd think the extra money spent on the Ducky over say a Keychron would mean better QC
