Hi all, I'm having the same cold boot issue that a lot of people are having.
Basically I have 3X2 GB sticks of Corsair XMS3 installed, every morning when i start my pc it shows up 4GB in bios and in windows, Cpu-z shows all 6GB's.
3Dmark only shows 4GB and it shows the first Dimm slot empty. If I shut down and restart all 6GB's show up. So I shuffled the sticks around and placed the first stick in the second dimm slot. the next morning I started my pc and again only 4Gb detected, I launched 3Dmark and checked system info, 4GB detected and this time the second dimm slot resulted being empty. So i shut down, restarted and bang 6GB again. So this time I moved the suspect stick and placed it in the third dimm slot. The next morning I started my pc again, and again only 4GB detected.....launched 3Dmark and this time the third dimm slot resulted empty, so I figured that one stick must be faulty.
Anyways I removed the other 2 sticks and placed the suspected faulty stick in the first dimm(red) slot, next morning I started my pc and it wouldn't boot, forced a shutdown and restarted and the pc booted, I tested the stick with memtest and no errors came up. I'm really puzzled at this point, I've tried everything, raising voltages, manually put in ram timings in the bios and nothing solves this issue. The particular stick must be the problem but why doesn't it come up with errors in memtest?
P.S. My brother has the exact same system, we built them at the same time and he has no problems.
Thanks.
