Can anyone explain this to me? I have bought two sticks of 4GB XMS3 with about 16 months in between buying the first and second module.

Installed last night and CPU-Z is reporting this. Both part numbers for each module is the same, however the speeds are reported differently.

This is on a Asus Z97-P running BIOS v.2601

Looks like the SPD was programmed differently for the JEDEC specs but the XMP profile is spot on, might be the same part number but different ICs used with different tolerances at same voltage. Why is it in Single channel mode though? Do you have the Modules in the right spot for Dual channel?

Just reading through the QVL for my Asus Z97-P and noticed I have them installed as single channel. Will change that out tonight - thanks for picking this up.

Out of interest; does dual channel make any noticeable difference over single channel?
