Just noticed this on the site...

Corsair 2GB DDR3 XMS3-1066C7 TwinX (2x1GB)

DDR3 ram? Hows the performance? This need a specific motherboard to run? Any good?

noticed ddr3 is popping up in places now, thats why im gonna hold off any master upgrades till native 8 core cpus are about. no point getting a setup now with ddr2 when ddr3 is kicking off.

looking at DDR3 the speeds are the same as DDR2 and they have a higher CAS and are about 2x the price,

i don't think they are gunna hit it off til Q4 earliest imho.

8 core !!

There is hardly any application that utilises dual core. If you are planning on running 8 different applications then you are going to need a hell of a lot of RAM to back it up.

I'm not even going to think about even looking at DDR3 until theres more than one option.

IMO the DDR3 is going to transfer large amounts of data in one go, slowly. If that makes any sense.

CL7 will just make it bad for games that need data to and from ram quickly but good for generating massive images etc.

Please tell me if i talk balls.

id say you were about right

but considering the 4gb ddr2 kits then you are better off with that... for now atleast

How do they justify the price then....

And any will this fit any mobo...

Dont think I'd move to this anyway...

Perhaps this is why DDR2 is droping in price!
