Anyone had any problems with this RAM? I got two sticks, showing 4gb in the BIOS but only 2gb in windows. It also won't boot with one of the sticks, which I believe to be faulty.

Have posted in Customer Service so hoping they'll sort this out for me asap. :(

sound like you have a faulty stick mate yeah.have you tried the other slots for for ram. i actually had to RMA my first set of corsair xms3 also, as i had a faulty stick myself.

I've just noticed that they somehow managed to send me 2 sticks of the triple channel stuff, oh dear!

Called and got left on hold for 5 minutes. Not sure if I'd been cut off or not so hung up and ended up in a queue again! I have asked them to refund the original order and send me the correct stuff at the original price, as it's gone up £8. Oh but there is no one in that can authorise that today!!!

I've now got to call back Monday, just to add a little more to my phone bill. Shoddy service tbh. :(

Gin0rm0 i had same thing ram labelled 6gb (3x2b) when i ordered the 4gb(2x2gb)

i rang up Ocuk and was told its same thing and there should be no difference between ram labelled 3x2gb and the 2x2gb ram i ordered (xms3), is this right or have i been misinformed?

I also had the same thing sent for my M-ITX i3 build a week ago. Came labelled as part of a 3x2GB pack.

Seem okay but I did wonder. Posted on here and was told that they should be fine.

Will follow this thread closely.

I ordered 2 x 2 gigs and they sent me the triple channel memory to.

I seem to recall they have done it to a few people on here now.

It stated in stock so why they sending triple channel memory when i paid for dual?

Wonder what would happen if you tried to rma 2 sticks of a triple channel pack direct to Corsair!!!

wow this seems to be happening a lot, yeah the 4gb (2x2gb) was in stock when i ordered but they sent me the triple channel stuff.

My chip is i5 2500k if that impacts anything. Is there any way to check if my memory is running in dual channel or in single channel?

very confused now

Quick update for you guys. OC have told me that they don't actually have any stock of the Corsair 2 x 2gb kits and are supplying 2 sticks from a triple channel kit instead. I wasn't happy with this so am returning my Corsair memory for a full refund (although was RMA'ing due to one faulty stick anyway).

Have ordered some Kingston memory instead and was assured this would be a 2 x 2gb kit, as advertised.

That's not right atall mate, triple channel is for x58. They should have sent you a matched pair of dual channel.

You got unlucky with having one defective stick, but your comment is wrong. I see no problem with OCUK splitting the kits, the memory itself won't be any different as the specs are identical. You need an x58 to run triple channel, but the sticks themselves will work just as well in duel chennel mode (there is no physical differences between triple chennel or duel channel).

The duel channel and triple channel kits from Corsair are made up from identical sticks.

That's all well and good but it still isn't the same product as i ordered, it even has a different product code. They should make an amendment to the product page to point out that they will actually send 2 sticks of triple channel. Are these triple channel sticks even matched as they didn't come in a box, just two separate plastic containers?

won't the serial numbers be concurrent. the ones on my 6gb kit are all concurrent so 2 of these shouldnt be a problem

I currently have 2x2GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz and the only problem I have had is them only using 1333MHz of speed. I still need to sort that out. How would I?

hi mikeyholt i've got same ram its running only at 1333Mhz aswell, i think we need to do something in the bios to get it upto 1600Mhz but not 100% sure on what to do, from what i've read its something to do with the voltage going through the ram,

It also won't boot with one of the sticks, which I believe to be faulty.
Are you me? I got my RMA form for it today. But I have to send both sticks back, so I am buying some Kingston ValuRAM to last me, and expand my memory from 4GB to 8GB once I have my other sticks back.

We're both unlucky then Mikey!

I'm posting mine back later on. Have replaced with some Kingston Genesis which work a treat so far. ;)

Leave the voltage alone and up the frequency to 1600mhz in bios. It's a simple one setting change. If you give you motherboard details someone can point you right to it.
