Can I use this to connect up my 360 to a CRT computer monitor?.

I used to use it with my PS2 and it worked fine.

However, I tried it with the 360 and the standard leads and although I got a picture it was in black and white?. Seem to remember it doing that with the PS2 as well, but I eventually worked out how to get it in colour. Trouble is I now cant remember!!.

How do you connect one of these things up to a 360?.

Reason being, the wife is off work ill just now and is sat watching a load of rubbish on the main TV. Tried the 360 on a portable one in the bedroom but it looked awful. So last resort is my 17" flatscreen CRT monitor.

Any advice appreciated.

Can you not just spring £20 or so on the official VGA cable? Hell, you could get one of the cheaper 3rd party alternatives.

Would be way easier.

Best advice would be ditch that and get the VGA cable, then you'll actually be able to play the 360 in HD, and if the similar box I have to that is anything to go by, that picture quality is pretty damn poor via those things, compared to proper means like comonent/VGA.

Yeah, I could get a VGA cable, but I've got the Cosmo box lying around anyway, so thought I would give it a go.

So if I were to go for a VGA cable, what one would I need?.

My monitor has only one output lead which terminates in the usual PC VGA connector, so would I need some sort of adaptor to connect it to the 360?.

Buy the official cable and it comes with a gender changer to allow you to connect to your monitors existing lead.

EDIT - This one, specifically > http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CO-071-MS

Cheers for the link. Didnt realise there was a "gender changer" included, I had spotted that cable on the website but there doesnt seem to be any mention of a gender changer in the details?. Or am I just not looking hard enough?!!.

It doesn't mention it in the details, but trust me, if you buy the official Microsoft cable, it comes with one :).

Perfect m8, I'll nip out and grab one tomorrow, along with an MS advanced Scart lead too.

Probably end up flogging that Cosmo box at some point then if its not going to be any use for the 360. It worked pretty well with the PS2 though.

Cheers for the advice folks.
