i am in the process of a new build ,buying the parts as i go along, really like the cosmos 1000 but have heard about some issues with the cooling and airflow. my new rig includes a q6600 (which i will hope to overclock) and a single 8800gtx and a single hard drive, do you think i will be ok with the cosmos

There are only two things with the CM1000 which could be a problem, one is that the PSU is at the bottom which makes any G/C in a lower slot a bit warm and there is no fan for the HDD as standard. Other than that its a great case.

Hello m8,

I have the Cosmos 1000 and its a great case.

With regards to the cooling of the hard drives I have moved the bottom fan (the one with the black casing) on top of the hard drives so it draws air from the up past the drives and out into the case (where it gets expelled) and just ordered another fan casing from coolermaster direct in the Netherlands to put back on the bottom (you'll need another fan) it only cost about £5-6 including postage. (they also sell official window side panel for it as well) :D

You can also get faster 120mm fans that'll move a lot more air but wont increase the noise too much (the coolermaster supplied fans are really quiet).

Hope that helps? :)

thanks for the help fellas, the cosmos S is £50 more than the £100 ish i am prepared to spend so i think i will go with the cosmo and add the extra fan that D.M mentioned, thanks again
