Can someone who owns or recently bought a Cosmos 2 tell me if :

1. the fan controller issues fixed. On the CM support forums there was a lot of dissatisfaction with how the fan controller caused 3rd party fans to make strange noises on low settings. And it wasn't fixed in the 2nd revision of the controller.

2. the front 230mm fan be replaced with a 200mm megaflow fan ?

3. the Cosmos 2 handle 180mm height coolers (thinking Phanteks with 140mm fans slightly raised).

thanks

1. No
2. The front fan is a 200mm fan and you can't go higher. Can be replaced with a 140mm or 120mm

3. CPU cooler height: 190mm / 7.48 inch
Graphics card length: 385mm / 15.15 inch

1. Still a problem, but I use Aerocool fans and with the voltage reduction cable - this way I can have the controller on max but the fans run really quietly - made a massive difference.

Thanks for the info. I assume the stock CM fans and aftermarket CM fans (megaflows) wont have any issues with the controller.

Hows' the build quality and fit and finish ? Does the case pick up scratches easily ? Any issues ?

Presumably it's easy to add side intake fans to the door also.

I had a 2nd revision controller on my Cosmos 2 and had no problems with it ticking at slower speeds even with Bit Fenix Spectre Pro fans but one channel on it died after a while then the front 200 default fan stopped spinning even though it was still getting juice to the leds on it so I took all the cables out and use a different controller, I'd factor in a fan controller into the cost of your purchase.

It's a great case but not perfect, yes it's easily scratched so if you have a cat or are clumsy forget it. :) Build quality is great apart from the controller. It's real easy to add side fans to the door, I put two of the plain black 120's from the case that I replaced with Spectre Pro blues on the door, reduces temps a couple of degrees I found.

The thing weighs a load empty, with all my stuff in it it's got to be about 30KG, so it's nice to have those doors.
