Hi Folks,

I'm looking into the start up costs for a new venture and I'll need a website. Can anyone let me know how much the following set up would cost? I do have knowledge of HTML and CSS but don't want to design it myself. I have sent the follwing through to web design companies but have had no responses so far on the quotes.

Page 1 - Home page (info about company + news)

Page 2 - Product selection and customisation (only have around 10 products to lease, and due to it being a leasing company it may not need an e-commerce application, only a secure database for recording customer details and orders.)

Page 3 - FAQ page (just a basic list of questions and answers)

Page 4 - Contacts page ( webnote form, the main point of contact for customers to get through to the business)

Due to the nature of the products I will need to be able to update the website when necessary so it will need to be designed with that in mind. I do have knowledge of HTML and CSS so it doesn't need to be too basic. Also, I have a colour scheme in mind plus a logo already drawn up.

Thanks a lot

Matt

Page2 will be the big cost there....how detailed? Is it simply an info page with a little script to show the costs and an admin area to edit the info, or is it actually more a 'section' which will show the products and let people purchase?

High-3-to-mid-ish-4 figures, depending on that :)

Page 2 will be a list of items with options on each one, therefore, depending on what the item was was for you could spend more money on, for example item number 1 but save money on item number 3 as it isn't necessary for you (can't really go into details about the actual products I'm affraid).

However, each carries a seperate price and so the total of the customised widget will appear the the bottom with the delivery price etc. Now, with it being a leasing company I am in negotiations with finance companies who will then take the burden oft he debt so I think all I will need is the customers details which I will then pass on to the Finance Co. who then sort out payments etc so I don't think I need an e-commerce back end, just a secure database for their details.

Is it possible to give web design companies just a small part of a website to do? I was thinking if I really needed to I could put together a website myself just for the company's infancy but contract out page 2 to someon who knows what they are doing? As I said I already have a logo and a bit of a design idea I can work with!

Thanks for that

Matt
