Cost of shipping back a monitor?

I presume a lot of you have had to return a large, expensive item to OCUK for some reason or another.

So I was just wondering how much has it cost you to ship the item back?

The reason I ask is that I'm looking at getting an IPS monitor, and they're known to be a bit of a lottery when it comes to IPS glow, and so may have to return and try a new one if I get a particularly bad one. So just wondering how much it would cost roughly to return something of this size/weight and value. I know I have to bear the cost as it's just classed as unwanted.

It's not cheap as there are only 1 or 2 couriers who will actually insure a monitor against damage, DPD/Interlink and RM SD IIRC.

Would cost around £25 from inputting my estimates on there. But, monitors over 26" are prohibited according to their list, so wouldn't be able to use them it seems.

I just had a monitor arrive on Monday DOA, OCUK sent DPD to pick it up the next day, but I think the rules are different for DOA.

depends on whether youre returning it as its defective or whether you just dont want it.

I just asked them and they said bad IPS glow isn't classed as a defect, so would just come under unwanted unfortunately.

Ipostparcels insure monitors up to 28" iirc and aren't too badly priced. I sent a laptop with them including £500 insurance for about £12. A quick Google search normally reveals a couple of discount codes too.

cost me just over £20 to send a 22" via TNT last year, monitors are on their no compensations list.
