Hi,
Was just driving through heavy rain, puddles ect. and my warning light has come on saying "engine overheat". the light came on when i came out of the shop back to the car, and the car wouldn't start only the lights worked.
Now the engine management light is still on and will need to be reset, What sort of cost am i looking at?
The car is a Fiesta ST, with a K&N 57I Induction kit fitted.

Are you missing something here? Like... finding and fixing the problem that caused it to come on?

well, at a guess i'd say it's the fact that i've altered the engine cooling by fitting the K&N 57I..... so i'm looking the get the light reset and i'm going to go back to the standard cooling.
Edit: that said, i don't know anyone else who've had the problem after fitting the K&N.

The air filter isnt part of the cooling system?

on the fiesta st cooling, it goes into the filter and the air passes over the top of the engine under the plastic engine cover.. by fitting the K&N there's no air passing over the engine in the orinal way just straight to the filter then the throttle body.
but i will ask the garage what else may have caused the problems.
