Cost vs Speed

Hi all,

Please go easy on me, I am still trying to broaden my knowledge!

I am about to build a PC, I have decided I am going to go for 32GB of DDR4, as a bit of future-proofing.

I'm looking on Amazon at Corsair Vengeance LPX and was about to pull the trigger on 32gb (2 x 16) 3200Mhz for £206.

Only, I have spotted the 3000MHz is £185, and the 2666MHz is £140.

My question is, is it really worth spending 50% more cash for a 20% increase in memory speed going from the 3200 to the 2666?

(If it is relevant, the PC is mainly going to be used for heavy spreadsheet/database work and occasional gaming at HD res)

No

2666 is fast enough, you would not notice the difference imo ( unless you are benchmarking )

I was hoping that would be the answer! £70 saved to spend elsewhere!
