Me and the missus have had an Xbox 360 for years and really enjoyed Hack'n'Slash couch co-op RPG's

I am angling to ditch the idea of an Xbox One / PS4 and moving to a value gaming PC in the lounge...

The main reason we have not already gone to an Xbox one is the lack of good co-op RPG titles.

There are some obvious indie titles and some other titles on co-optimus that I have seen... but interested to know if you guys have any solid recommendations of same screen view from above co-op RPG's that you can play via PC?

Ideally I am looking for games with the same kind of graphics as say Diablo 3 or at least NWN+ so all good with indie games but I am trying to find ones that are reasonable.

Oh and just to make it even harder - the stronger the story the better :)

You already mentioned it ......Diablo 3.

I had it for the PC for a number of years but didn't really play it extensively until I was looking for a co-op game for me and my son for my PS4. I was dubious about the idea of a controller for the game but it works really well.

One PC means, split screen, or shared screen, I assume. But in any case, I'll just throw co op games, single screen, screen, or needing two PCs...

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (shared screen).

Trine 2 (local co-op / shared screen).

Castle Crashers (local co-op / shared screen).

Lego game series (local co-op / shared screen).

Worms series.

BroForce (local co-op / shared screen).

Portal 2 (local co-op split screen, LAN, Online).

Torchlight II (LAN, Online).

Borderlands 2 (LAN, Online).

Left 4 Dead (LAN, Online).

Minecraft (LAN, Online).

Some games can be hacked into split screens (or, dual monitors), bascically running two instances, with two different controllers. But really, it's a hassle most of the time.

Gauntlet?

Multiplayer, lots of hack & slash, light RPG elements, no story to speak of.

So doesn't necessarily fit spec, but it's good fun.

helldivers is single screen and multiplayer

if you got a screen each then payday 2 is alota fun

neither are classic rpg but they do have character development in them

Great, thanks for the recommendations - the best outcome would be to add a high spec tablet or mid spec laptop in as well as then there would be heaps of co-op games we could play - but it just isn't the same as being together on the same screen.

Portal 2 co-op would be a blast

also something something potato can run.
all i know is co-op has potato in it and its awesome

Portal 2 Co-op
