LX Series - Fully modular 80+ Bronze certified units with HDB fans & DC-DC power conversion technology. These are some of the very few fully modular Bronze units on the market. We have 500W & 600W available initially, and these are due in at the start of June.

VTX Series - Aggressively priced 80+ Bronze certified units with a 3 year warranty and a temperature controlled 120mm fan. These are pretty well priced for what they offer and would provide a stable and reliable base for a mid ranged system. We have 400W, 450W, 550W and 700W available initially, with all but the 700W due at the start of June (700W will be end of June).

These are very good prices, the modular ones especially look delectable. Of course the big question is... how reliable are these? Would want any exploding power supplies lol, but if they're great, I'll be willing to buy/recommend them no problem.

They are made by HEC, who are used as an OEM by a bunch of guys, including EVGA. They are reliable enough and the 3 year warranty is reassuring for what is a price vs performance orientated product. I'm not going to go ahead and say I would recommend them over brands such as Super Flower and XFX, but they are a great choice for someone who requires a reliable power supply capable of providing stable power for a mid ranged system, and the price is good on that basis.

I also think that it's important to point out that the only psu's that they make for EVGA are their cheapest budget one's and they are not particularly good. Superflower, Seasonic and FSP makes the vast majority of EVGA's psu's.

I think you'll find that HEC have upped their game in recent times. The LX platform is a vast improvement on their previous Bronze units which the EVGA units are based on. The Cougar units are not aiming to be the best in the market, however they offer features and good reliability at a pricepoint that most other high tier OEM's cannot match. There is a place for them in our portfolio, that's for sure.
