Could a faulty Motherboard be my problem

I have a p5q-e, q6600, 8gb (4x2gb) corsair 800mhz c4dhx ram.

Basically the problem: with 4gb it runs perfectly, with 8gb its rediculously bad.

I posted in the Memory section as I thought it was a ram problem, but after more testing I'm leaning towards mobo problem.

There is more info in the other thread including screenshots so not gonna repost them : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17916428 is the post.

Any help appreciated!

(and for those that dont read the other post. I have tried the latest bios and the modded bios by ket on xs, same deal with both)

Yeah, I upped it from 1.2 to 1.26 as per corsairs specs for running 4 modules ( Lowered the ram to 667mhz and put the dram voltage to 2.1 too - also their specs)

Well it does work fine with 4gb, but if the motherboard is faulty I dont exactly wanna just ignore the fact :/ Plus I would rather have 8gb available for what im doing. Consdering at the moment I have 0 free ram, it is all being used, I think 8gb would be a good idea ;)

Ok, - update again - I reset the bios back to the original release bios 0603 i think it was, and now it works... So the newer, more compatible one, caused this error. No idea why, but there you go.
