Could a RAM upgrade affect sound?

Today, I replaced 2GB of 667MHz RAM with 2GB of 800MHz RAM. Now, the sounds I hear from my computer are all tinny and distorted. What happened and how can I fix it? :confused:

Edit: I'm using my motherboard's onboard sound.

Checked the jack at the back hasn't come out slightly? I know its daft, but its possible.

Well switch the old RAM back and see what happens first.

Okay, looks like I have egg on my face this time. I assumed the RAM was at fault because the problem started right after I fitted it. Turns out my headphones chose that moment to give up the ghost, since I just plugged them into my old laptop and still had the dodgy sound. The RAM and motherboard are (probably) fine.

Sorry for wasting your time folks.

At least now I can justify getting some nice expensive headphones and sound card
