Could an unstable OC/bad memory cause display driver crash?

I recently did some work on my wifes PC, I OC'd her CPU after delidding, it's rock solid, over an hour of prime95 and it's solid, same goes for Furmark even though I've not OC'd her GPU.

However, in any game, no matter what, after a short while it just crashes to desktop stating the nvidia driver stopped working and successfully started again. We tried reinstalling drivers, but it complained about needing the UNC driver, so we did a full driver sweep, installed the standard package. Same results, tried the UNC driver, same results.

We've underclocked the GPU, same results, the only thing I can think is restoring her BIOS to defaults and testing again. But the OC is rock solid? Any ideas?

Yes 100% take the clock settings back to stock, and see if it still happens. It'll take all the guesswork out.

It it does come back and report.

If it doesn't, you could try slowly nudging things up a bit until it becomes unstable or simply don't overclock it.
