Hi all,

I'm looking for a good freebie hosting company.... for a small, simple website...

Could anybody recommend a good place? must be pukka - No pop ups or adverts or small print etc....

Thanks

Assuming you mean for webspace rather than a domain as well, in that case could you not use the webspace from what your ISP gives you?

I would not recommend 000 webhost, their site is slow and unreliable - every time i wanted to log into ftp i had to reset the password.

Site's hosted there take a while to load and i often get SQL time out errors. You're better off paying even just a little bit to get a decent provider.

I have 2 eve sites and I have just started a site to keep people informed of our wedding plans.

The 2 eve sites have been running for over a year but recently moved to 000, zero downtime, cPanel, no ads and never any trouble regarding speeds. As for resetting your password, perhaps it is just you as I haven't had any trouble with it, nor anyone else I have suggested them too.

One of the eve sites uses the sql d-base in order to keep track of a corps BPO/BPCs etc etc. Never had any trouble with reliability.

If you're taking things at all seriously, don't go with a free host... as a matter of fact, I wouldn't even have a hobby site on a free host. Unless it was "free" because I had already paid for something else.

We require avertisements are required to be placed on your website. Proper advertisements are required to be placed on each and every page of your website.

Accounts found to be inactive are suspended for a 10 day period and then terminated. All data including any type of backup or stored information is removed with the account. To prevent an account from being suspended for inactivity it is required users visit the x10Hosting forums at least ONCE every TWO WEEKS.

Stay well away. Bandwidth and servers cost money. Any free host is going to be pretty unreliable and/or require you to place ads on your site. Not worth it when you can get paid hosting so cheaply.

if you want a bit of space, i'd be more than happy to give you some - i have reseller hosting for 2 of my sites, all paid up for a year and won't be changing any time soon - let me know if you'd like some space

Fast, Cheap, Reliable ..... you will only ever achieve two of these criteria at once.
